Abstract :
The study of turf grass seed mixture suitable for climatic conditions of Iran, the amount of water consumption of seed mixture and their resistance to water deprivation in comparison with conventional seed mixture is of great importance. Waterless® (NAN) is a mixture of cold + warm season seed and suitable for low water green spaces, which creates an excellent green surface in summer with the presence of Cynodon and in spring and autumn with the presence of Festuca, although it is important to plant at the right temperature. 70 of the mentioned seed mixture is Festuca, which if planted in autumn or spring at an average temperature of 18 to 24 °C, its establishment will be complete and the emergence of the first seeds of Cynodon (10) will be delayed until summer. Waterless® (NAN) and Watersaver® as drought resistant seed mixtures compared to Super Sport in terms of water deprivation (75 field Capacity, 50 field Capacity and 25 field Capacity) were evaluated during the summer on the research site of Shahed University. The results showed that in 50 field capacity up to 12 days and in 25 field capacity up to 9 days, Waterless® (NAN) will have more than 60 green cover respectively. The highest height belonged to the Watersaver®. Also, Watersaver® had significantly lower average in fresh weight and dry weight factors of debris materials and proline concentration than other seed compounds. After 15 days of drought stress, re-irrigation of all Waterless® lawns showed that this cold + warm mixture has a high recovery power. So that even in the parts that did not receive any water for 15 days at an average temperature of 24 to 36.5 °C, after 6 days of re-irrigation, they showed more than 70 green cover.
