Keywords :The presence of dormancy in the seeds of dark umbel plants is one of the most important reasons that has made it difficult to cultivate and tame them. In order to evaluate seed dormancy failure, study of seed germination characteristics and quality traits of celery medicinal plant, a study was conducted in the Seed Technology Laboratory of Shahed University in 1398. This factorial experiment consisted of two levels of mechanical scraping (without scratching and scraping with sandpaper) and three concentrations of gibberellin (0, 400 and 700 ppm) in a completely randomized design with four replications. Photosynthetic pigment traits including chlorophyll a, b, total and carotenoids were measured. According to the results of analysis of variance, the scratch treatment affected the studied traits. The results of comparing the mean of the treatment composition showed that the concentration of 400 ppm caused an increase in the content of photosynthetic pigments.

Abstract :
The presence of seed dormancy in umbel plants is one of the major obstacles to their cultivation and domestication. In this research, an experimental design was performed as a completely randomized design with three replications in the Seed Technology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Shahed University. The experimental factor included leaching time at three levels of 24, 48 and 72 hours in running water at 15 °C. The results of analysis of variance showed that germination percentage, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll and carotenoid content were affected by leaching. The results of mean comparison showed that with increasing leaching time, the germination percentage of celery seeds increased and the amount of photosynthetic pigments of aromatic celery seedlings decreased. Temperature of 24 °C had the highest chlorophyll content in all traits.
