Keywords :In order to study the seedling vigor index, time and percentage germination characteristics of celery seeds, an experiment was conducted in the Seed Technology Laboratory of Shahed University in 2019. This factorial experiment consisted of two levels of mechanical scraping (without scratching and scraping with sandpaper) and three concentrations of gibberellin (0, 400 and 700 ppm) in a completely randomized design with four replications. The parameters of normal seedling number, number of abnormal seedlings, seedling vigor index and time up to 10, 50 and 90 of seed germination were measured. In the study of the effect of gibberellic acid and scratching on the germination characteristics of seeds and seedlings of celery, the results showed that the most normal seedlings and seedling vigor index were obtained in the absence of priming, followed by a concentration of 400 ppm and time up to 10 50 and 90 of germination were affected by scratching and gibberellic acid became insignificant in these traits. In celery seeds, mechanical scratching reached 10 germination faster than non-scratching, resulting in 50 and 90 germination faster in seeds scraped with sandpaper. In general, the scratching treatment was more effective than the non-scratching treatment at low concentrations of gibberellic acid and was able to record more favorable results.

In order to study the seedling vigor index, time and percentage germination characteristics of celery seeds, an experiment was conducted in the Seed Technology Laboratory of Shahed University in 2019.
