Purpose: The main purpose of this research is analizing the functional and structural approaches of scientific communication in knowledge production by researchers in the field of scientometrics in Iran. Methodology: This research has been done with mixed method, However, content analysis have been used and the information required for this research has been gathered from a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. Findings: It shows that researchers in this field tend to use specialized tools to establish their scientific communication and the most common reason for participating in this type of tools are factors such as understanding specific issues, knowing the scientific community around them etc Can be named. Conclusion: Researchers in the field of scientometrics tend to use two-way and specialized tools such as databases and believe that this type of communication has improved their communication process in response to their needs. It has also affected the quality of their products and scientific activities. Also, the facilities and facilities that researchers expect to be provided so that they can establish effective scientific communication with other researchers or their scientific fi ّهدف:تحلیل رویکردهای کارکردی و ساختاری ارتباطات علمی در تولید دانش توسط پژوهشگران حوزه علم‌سنجی در ایران می باشد. روش شناسی:این پژوهش ترکیبی است و از روش‌های پیمایشی، اسنادی و تحلیل محتوا استفاده شده و اطلاعات مورد نیاز این پژوهش از پرسشنامه و مصاحبه نیمه ساختار یافته گرداوری شده است. یافته‌ها:نشان می دهد که پژوهشگران این حوزه تمایل به استفاده از ابزار های تخصصی برای برقراری ارتباطات علمی خود دارند و بیشترین علت حضور در این نوع از ابزار ها را عواملی چون پی بردن به مسائل خاص، شناخت جامعه علمی اطراف خود و... می توان نام برد. نتیجه‌گیری:پژوهشگران حوزه علم‌سنجی تمایل به استفاده از ابزار های دوسویه و تخصصی ای مانند پایگاه‌های اطلاعاتی را دارند و معتقد هستند که این نوع از ارتباطات باعث بهتر شدن فرایند ارتباطی انها در پاسخ به نیاز های خود شده است علاوه بر این بر روی کیفیت تولیدات و فعالیت های علمی انان نیز تاثیر گذار بوده است. همچنین امکانات و تسهیلاتی که پژوهشگران انتظار دارند در اختیارشان قرار گیرد تا بتوانند ارتباط علمی موثر با سایر پژوهشگران و یا یافته های علمی انان برقرار کنند عواملی همچون دسترسی به پایگاه های اطلاعاتی بین المللی، مشخص کردن نیازها و اولویت‌های پژوهشی و... می باشد.
