Abstract :
Abstract Review of studies indicates that development endeav ors in science, technology and innovation (STI) arenas are counted as main accelerators of ec onomic growth and social welfare. For that, governments and international organizations increas ingly see the evaluation of science, technology and innovation as an important agenda for their pol icy and action. This article goes to employ document study method t o recognize the role of scientometrics indicators in international STI manuals. Furthermor e, conduct a comparison study to identify similarities and differences of three international set of indicators is used by Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), Oslo and Frascati Man uals of STI assessment. Findings indicates that in all of aforementioned ma nuals bibliometric indicators have an important role to play. Discussions of such finding s here in this article help Library and information science experts conduct more deep studi es at this respect.
