Abstract :
The nonlinear behavior of the superconducting microstrip open-ring resonators is computed by an analytical method based on the distributed equivalent circuit model of transmission lines. In fact, the equivalent circuit model of the open-ring resonator is analyzed and relative nonlinearities such as third-order harmonic (H3) generation and third-order inter-modulation (IMD3) distortion, are computed by the harmonic balance (HB) approach. As an example, the method is applied to a superconducting open-ring resonator and its IMD3 is obtained and compared with experiment to validate the accuracy of the proposed method. Such approach can considerably save time, cost and memory usage of the simulation and experiments.
